“Great place and wonderful hosts for family”
We easily found Bastide Saint Didier just a mile or so from the village of Saint Didier, just about 25-30 minutes East of Avignon. The setting was beautiful with views of the Dentelles de Montmirailles and Mount Ventoux, situated in the middle of Cote de Rhone & Cote de Ventoux wine country. The property itself had apple and olive trees and vineyards next door. The home was charming and the room with the queen bed and loft with 2 single beds fit our family perfectly. The bedroom, bathroom and toilet were perfectly clean. The bedding kept us plenty warm for late November (temperatures dropping into the low- to mid-40s(Fahrenheit)). The breakfast in the morning was plentiful and delicious. They provided a buffet with various breads and pastries as well as fruits, homemade fruit jams, yogurt, cereal, cheeses, some meat and offered to prepare eggs if we wanted them. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating, sharing much with us about this area of Provence including outdoor activities, recommended restaurants, wine tastings, and other sights. They provided us with a variety of maps, guidebooks, and brochures that appear to have been accumulated over the previous few years. They also showed us recommended routes to drive to catch everything we wanted to in the short time that we had. We would highly recommend Bastide Saint Didier and would absolutely stay here again when coming back to Provence.

This place is lovely- incredibly peaceful and very thoughtfully renovated. The hosts couldn’t have been more welcoming, from providing bikes to cooking crepes and providing advice on the local area. Loved this place.

“Wonderful place to stay and terrific hosts”
We had a simply wonderful time. The property is lovely, calm, and comfortable, well-located for adventures in Provence. Our hosts were perfect : warm and welcoming, helpful and kind. They helped organize a wonderful truffle hunting excursion, and were great hosts not only for us but for our two children (5 and 8). The food was delicious, and plentiful. We will definitely be back.

“Heaven”
I can’t praise this place enough, the owners were perfect hosts, the location was paradise, the room was well decorated, light and airy with the most comfortable bed of our whole holiday. What really made it though were the extra little touches, Richard the owner brought us cake to our room to have with a coffee just after arrival, the well stocked fridge with a selection of ice cold drinks by the pool is fantastic.

“Provence hidden gem!! Bastide St.Didier!”
Richard and En Xin are amazing hosts. From the minute we arrived they were on it. A drink when we arrived…absolutely beautiful rooms with such attention to detail….a lovely pool with free drinks in a frig…an easy walk into a charming town. Breakfast is outstanding with everything homemade…a fruit tart that was exceptional…fresh squeezed juice…fresh cheeses from the neighboring farm! But most memorable are the gracious hosts who are so helpful and enthusiastic. Their place is bound to be a success!!

“magical!”
The property itself, and the scenery surrounding it, is breathtakingly beautiful! Richard & his wife are amazing hosts, they are very knowledgeable about the area, and are always willing to help. The rooms are beautifully decorated and have the Provence feel to them. On day one Richard made us feel at home, by showing us the property, and allowing us to pick as many apricots from the trees as we wanted- they were the most delicious apricots we have ever tasted!!!! Richard was also kind enough to show us on the map where to go on our daily excursions, and the trips did not disappoint. Finally, the breakfasts were such an amazing experience, sitting under the pergola covered in grape vines, admiring the beautiful view, and enjoying great cheeses, baguettes, homemade marmalades, & tarts. It was a magical experience that we will not soon forget. Thank you Richard for everything we will be back!

“Exceptional!”
Richard and Enxin are a lovely and friendly couple, who run their beautiful B&B with passion and professionality and will always go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. They are very knowledgeable about the area and their advice has helped us greatly in planning some very memorable trips. If you want to stay at home for a day, there is a large pool with fantastic views to Mt.Ventoux and a garden full of fruit trees and butterflies. The breakfast is excellent with a wide choice of very good local produce, and I remember fondly the long leisurely breakfasts in the shade of their vine covered pergola. And if you don’t fancy eating out in the evening, you can use the guest kitchen to rustle something up yourself and enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine under an old olive tree.Fabulous.

“Great find!”
Everything was wonderful during our stay here. The hosts were very friendly and attentive. They knew everyone’s name by heart and provided great recommendations for restaurants and things to see. They went out of their way to make sure all the guests were happy and pay attention to little details – I find this level of service rare! The house is gorgeous and so are the rooms. Beds are very comfortable! Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice and Richard’s homemade tart changed everyday was always great. The pool is beautiful with a clear view of the Mont Ventoux. Even though we were there at the height of the heatwave (38+ C temps!) the pool was very refreshing. Great location with easy access to Avignon, the Luberon and Cotes du Rhone wine villages. The town of Saint Didier is within walking distance and is incredibly cute with lots of dining options. We even stumbled upon a jazz concert one night ? I would recommend this B&B to friends and would come back.

“Perfection!”
We are used to staying in big 5* hotels. This place is not like those hotels, it’s better!!! The pool is wonderful with a view of the mountains. The breakfast is really, really good. The room was clean and lovely. Wifi works. All good things, but the best thing about Bastide Saint-Didier is the atmosphere. This is friendliest hotel we have ever stayed in. The couple that run the hotel has found the perfect balance between of being involved in your stay and giving you privacy. We may go back to France just to stay at Bastide Saint-Didier.Booking.com

“Warmth Personified”
We arrived at Bastide Saint – Didier welcomed as new friends and left after four days feeling like family. Richard and Enxin are perfect hosts with a world of experience, Their property is a perfect example of a northern Provence farm house complete with lush landscaping and a very inviting pool. The breakfast buffet was incredible. The views of Mount Ventoux are incomparable. If our hosts decided to open a campground I would not hesitate to stay in a tent. To replicate an experience like this will not be easy so perhaps we will just have to go back.TripAdvisor

“A real gem in Provence!”
This place is wonderful. We have travelled a lot in Europe and stayed in many different types of accommodation. This has to be one of our best choices ever. Our welcome included a plate of fresh figs from the neighbouring farm and this attention to detail continued throughout our stay. Richard and En Xin were fantastic hosts creating a very friendly attentive atmosphere whilst also allowing us space and privacy. The accommodation itself is lovely. Beautifully decorated, spacious rooms which are spotlessly clean and a wonderful well presented pool. A really nice addition is the outdoor kitchen where we could prepare our own food if we wished. There was also a well stocked fridge of cold drinks from which we could help ourselves. Breakfasts were amazing. Richard makes fantastic tarts with seasonal fruit, local meat, cheese and bread, freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit and quality coffee.the preserves were all homemade as well. There is definitely a focus on quality here. We could not have asked for more. The night before we left our hosts asked us to join them and another couple of guests for a drink. Again this was a lovely gesture. Our hosts have only been running this place for 11 months – what a fantastic job they are doing. They will go far!
